OnePlus 11 release date is (*11*) confirmed

We now know when the OnePlus 11 is announced, as OnePlus (*11*) itself confirmed that the phone will be unveiled on February 7.

The company said so on its official website (opens in a new tab). Or, more specifically, it's said to host an event called 'Cloud 11' on February 7, but at the bottom of the page there's a button to tap to learn more about the OnePlus 11 5G, which is mentioned by name. . That confirms that this phone will be present in Cloud 11.

By the way, the additional details you can learn by pressing this button are simply that it has Hasselblad cameras (which we already knew about) and an alert slider.

There's also mention of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, so expect them to land on February 7 as well, and it suggests there could be a few surprises in store as well.

The event starts on February 7 at 6am PT / 9am ET / 2pm GMT or February 8 at 1am PT.

It's not the only new OnePlus 11, as MySmartPrice(Opens in a new tab) also spotted the phone in a Geekbench 5 benchmark.

The benchmark indicates a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which we totally expected, as this OnePlus 10 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. 16GB of RAM is also mentioned, which is more than you can get with the OnePlus 10 Pro. It's probably the higher-end model, so we're also expecting a 12GB version and possibly an 8GB version as well.

Android 13 is also mentioned, and the OnePlus 11 gets a single-core score of 1493 in this benchmark and a multi-core score of 5112. Those are impressive scores, as the best Android phones this year typically hit scores single core under 1200. and multi-core under 4000. But of course they also tend to use older chipsets so it makes sense.

We'd take this benchmark with a grain of salt, too, because even if it's genuine, it's based on pre-release material, and benchmark scores are generally not worth reading too much of at the best of times. . Still, we'll know exactly how well the OnePlus 11 performs very soon.

Analysis: OnePlus multiplies the teasers

The announcement of the OnePlus 11 presentation date is not the first sneak peek we have for the phone. A few days earlier, OnePlus released a teaser video showing off the camera block and Hasselblad branding.

There hasn't (*11*) been much more from the company yet, but expect plenty more official teasers and details to surface in the coming weeks as OnePlus is used to providing trickle-down info on its phones ahead of the full announcement.

In fact, we'll probably already know most of the details about the OnePlus 11 when it's unveiled on February 7. It's an odd practice that can deflate the launch event a bit, but maybe build hype before then. Presumably it works for OnePlus anyway, otherwise the company wouldn't keep doing it.

OnePlus certainly has to generate some buzz anyway, because with the Samsung Galaxy S23 series also landing in February, the OnePlus 11 will have some serious competition.
