Samsung offers 'Shop 20K Advantage' for online shoppers

Considering the current pandemic situation and future prospects for online shopping, Samsung has launched three new initiatives to provide more incentives for online shoppers. These include referral programs, students, and Samsung stores on their website. Samsung's official website, Samsung.com, has been attracting a lot of attention lately, and they say it is expected to attract a total of 400 million visitors by 2020. In a press release, Samsung says that the Unique Referral Program will receive discounts of up to 8% for friends and family on the purchase of mobile devices and high-end consumer electronics through the referral link on the website. Although the exact list of premium products is not mentioned, the offer is applicable to more than 15 products including smartphones, tablets and wearables. In addition, the person who returns the link will receive coupons of up to €1,500 once their friends successfully complete the transaction. This is a big move because e-commerce giants like Amazon, Flipkart still offer some sort of discount like instant cash back rewards to entice consumers. Like the referral program, the student program does not have an explicit product catalog, but promises special pricing for EVA students, such as free insurance, easy swapping, and EMI options. Students will need to access via their official email id or get permission from a verification agency. By name, the Shop 20K program promises users 10 coupons up to Rs 20,000 after successful registration with required details on Samsung Shop app. Each of these coupons will be available for categories like smartphones, TVs, washing machines, refrigerators, microwaves, tablets, smartwatches, True Wireless audio, accessories, and Harman/JBL. The coupon will increase to ₹2,000 each depending on the transaction value and will be valid for 365 days. That being said, the 10 coupons in different categories will total Rs 20,000 and looking at the offers it seems that Samsung is paying special attention to the app version. Speaking about the programs, Asim Warsi, Senior Vice President of Samsung India, said: “For Samsung, the online store (Samsung.com) is a key growth area and we are targeting 10% of our overall business. on mobiles and consumers. electronics through this important channel."
