Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 renders offer a clear look at a disappointing phone

We have heard several rumors about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4, but until now we have not really seen what it looks like. Now though we have, at least assuming some new unofficial renders are correct.

Shared by @OnLeaks (a leaker with a good track record) on behalf of 91Mobiles, the renders are of high quality and show the Galaxy Z Flip 4 in blue, although it will apparently (unsurprisingly) be available in various shades.

The phone in the renders could easily be mistaken for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 as it looks identical apart from the color and, according to the source, also has a 6.7-inch foldable screen, just like the current model.

It also has a dual-lens camera and secondary screen on the back, a USB-C port, a speaker grill and a SIM card slot on the bottom edge, as well as a power button and volume rocker on the edge. right, much like the Z Flip. 3.

The only difference they mention is the dimensions, which for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 are apparently 165,1 x 71,9 x 7,2mm (when unfolded). For reference, the Galaxy Z Flip 3 measures 166 x 72,2 x 6,9mm. So the Z Flip 4, if that's the case, is still a bit shorter and narrower, but a bit thicker. However, these differences are small enough to be basically unnoticeable.

No spec details here, but these renders don't include the under-display camera we've previously heard being tested for the phone, although there have always been questions about whether that would be included.

Review: Last year's phone with new chipset

At first glance, there aren't many visual changes from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3, and the number of cameras also appears to be the same (although their specs may differ).

So what is changing? Some sources point to a slightly larger battery, which could explain why the upcoming model is apparently a bit thicker. It could also have a slightly larger cover screen and a lighter hinge.

However, the biggest difference could be the chipset, which could be upgraded to Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. That should give you a significant, but not amazing, power boost, and it's not like the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is running out of power anyway.

So the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 may not be very exciting, but that lack of enthusiasm could allow Samsung to drop the price, and affordability could be the real selling point for this phone.
