Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra could be a boring update
The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is one of the best and most exciting phones around, especially for photography fans, but if you've been waiting for a big photography boost from the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, you might not get it. . According to GalaxyClub, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra probably has similar camera hardware to the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Apparently, it again has a 10MP periscope lens that offers 10x optical zoom, as well as a 10MP telephoto lens. The site doesn't know the zoom potential of this second lens, but suspects it to be 3x, like on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. While the site has no information on the other lenses, recent reports suggest they won't be changing either, with a 108MP main sensor planned and a 12MP ultrawide one. That said, there's some disagreement, with some previous leaks pointing to a 200MP main camera, and some sources saying the zoom patches will be 12MP. Where we could see bigger improvements is in the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Samsung Galaxy S22 Plus, with GalaxyClub echoing other sources saying these phones could have a 50MP main sensor (compared to 12MP in the Samsung Galaxy S21 range). While the ultra-wide and selfie cameras on these phones don't sound different, this source says they're 12MP and 10MP, respectively, as they're in the S21 range. As always, we'd take these leaks with a pinch of salt, but most sources now seem to agree with those specs, with the exception of the Galaxy S22 Ultra's zoom cameras' megapixel count, which may be 10MP. or more. .

Review: Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra's Most Exciting Feature Looks Unlikely

Arguably the most exciting thing we've heard about the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra so far is that it could offer continuous optical zoom, which means it could zoom from 1x optical to zoom. maximum optical zoom length: probably 10x. On most phones you are limited to only being able to zoom optically from a distance, all others are digital or hybrid zoom which would make the zoom camera much more versatile. However, since many rumors now suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will have dual zoom cameras (probably a 3x and a 10x again), we don't think that's very likely. If the phone could continuously optically zoom, you probably wouldn't need two different zooms, since the point of having two is that you can do both 3x and 10x optical zoom, while continuous zoom would allow you to zoom. To go through each step, probably from a single goal. Though we assume it's possible for both lenses to have continuous optical zoom, just covering different zoom levels. And while technically no sources have said we won't see this feature, few have mentioned it as something to come, so at this point we're not convinced we'll see it. Coupled with the other Galaxy S22 Ultra cameras that are likely to be similar to the current model, this could be a bit of a boring upgrade, especially for photography fans.
