Samsung Galaxy S22 pre-order teaser confirms a Note-like design for the S22 Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy S22 is expected to launch very soon, and ahead of February's Unpacked event, Samsung has launched a reservation page so you can ask the carrier to reserve a new phone or Galaxy Tab S8 for you if you wish. However, there is a great secret hidden inside.

The pre-order page, which you can see here, includes a teaser video for the new smartphones, and in a blink of an eye and you'll miss it, you can see the outlines of the Galaxy S22. Do not try to watch the video for this, we have shared it as an image at the top of this page.

As you can see, the two phones featured are slightly different: the left one is curved, while the right one has a more angular and professional design.

Standard and Ultra

We think the phone on the left is the Galaxy S22 and the phone on the right is the S22 Ultra. Why? Because it exactly matches some leaked renderings we've seen of the phone.

Looking at the phone straight on, the reflected light appears to show a screen that curves heavily around the edges, in a waterfall style like the Huawei Mate 40 Pro or Oppo Find X2 Pro.

So it looks like the Galaxy S22 Ultra will have a slimmer design with sharper angles and a steeply curved screen. If those earlier renders are correct, which they almost certainly are now, it could look a lot like the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

This fits in with the fact that most leakers now believe that the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will come with an S Pen stylus, as well as a slot to place it inside the body, as seen in the aforementioned renders.

Now, our main caveat with this news is not that the phone will look any different, as the corroboration between the leaked images and Samsung's silhouette is strong, but that it won't be called the Galaxy S22 Ultra at all. .

Some early leaks thought it would be called the Galaxy S22 Note because it takes the Note 21's place as Samsung's business-oriented mobile stylus, and that might still be true.

We expect the Samsung Galaxy S22 to launch in the next few weeks, so we'll find out the actual name of the phone very soon. Stay tuned for more news on this front.
