Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus unboxing and the first 24 hours

With the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus finally available, we can unbox, provide details on what's included, and tell you how the phone works.

We're about to pass the full Note 10 Plus review, but we need more time to test things like battery life and camera. This means that we will summarize our findings 24 hours a day, 72 hours a day and update it in real time.

On the last day, we inspected the size and build quality of the Note 10 Plus (it's big, but it looks thinner than the other Note phones), ran some performance tests, and took some photo samples with the devices. front and rear photo, including some low light photos.

Samsung has built an incredible phone, but at an impressive price at a time when there are several other options, including several Samsung phones, such as the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10 Plus. Is the S Pen Pen worth the extra money?

Here are our first takeaways after unpacking the Note 10 Plus.

We got grade 10 plus on Aura Glow reflective finish, which means it takes on the colors of its surroundings and often features a cool rainbow effect. This is different from the cool ocean blue and lavender purple colors of previous note phones which have a matte finish.

Note 10 Plus plastic packaging: when opening the Note 10 Plus box, the first thing we noticed was that the phone is sitting, protected in plastic on the front and back. Yes, you can peel off both sides without worry, unlike the Galaxy Fold, in which the plastic film that covered the screen was essential for its functionality. This is not the case here.

Stylus S: The Aura Glow version of the Note 10 Plus comes with a dark blue S pen, smaller and thinner than previous S pens. And yet its functionality has been improved with more technology inside - a gyroscope and accelerometer have been added to allow for motion controls, in addition to the Bluetooth LE we saw in Note 9.

USB-C charger: The new 25W and 25W USB charger, offering fast charging speeds, was our favorite part of the Note 10 Plus. You may not know it, but the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G comes with the same 25W charger.

But the Note 10 Plus will be a much more popular phone. This will be a first for many fans used to Samsung's old USB-A charging block and 15W lower charging speeds. A USB-C to USB-C cable is also included in this box.

Other tools include a SIM eject tool, a USB-Aa-USB-C adapter, and a claw grip to replace the S Pen stylus tips when they are worn out.

What is not here: a normal helmet. In fact, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus does not have a 3.5mm headphone jack, instead it relies on the USB-C charging port and USB-C headphones for personalized sound.

Samsung is one of the latest phone manufacturers to do away with the standard headphone port from a flagship phone. Bonus: the USB-C headphones are AKG headphones, so they're at least good quality if you're not using the wireless headphones.

Not here either: a 3,5mm head jack to USB-C adapter for using normal headphones. They are cheap on Amazon if you need it.

Large, but thinner, and the hole reduced

Note 10 Plus is a powerful and powerful phone. Its 6.8-inch screen has been largely inspired by the innovation of the Samsung Galaxy Fold. It is designed for very large hands, while the 10-inch Note 6.3 screen is suitable for medium to large hands.

The phone can fit in a denim pocket, but a summer shorts with smaller pockets or almost all the back pockets? He's praying to slip when I'm sitting there We had what happens to us with big glass phones like this before. This is just bigger.

It's just praying that I slip out of my summer shorts pocket when I'm sitting there.

What's useful is that the Note 10 Plus is 7.9mm thick, meaning it's thinner than last year's Note 9 by almost a millimeter. It's still pretty easy to stand on one hand without a Note 10 case, but it will need two hands for it to work properly.

I ran into a few fake keys when grabbing this giant phone, often encroaching on the sides of the curved screen. But it is not as bad as when I started playing with Notes (from Note 3), with very sensitive screens compared to an iPhone.

The front camera aligned in the center of the punch hole is not as distracting as you might think. So far it's pretty easy to ignore and its size is 26% smaller than the Galaxy S10.

The most comprehensive advantage: the outline of the front camera lights up when you take a synchronized selfie (just like the S10 series, but it will be a first for Note users). This is extremely convenient when taking a group selfie and non-Samsung phone owners want to know where to look.

Rated 10 More performance

It's the fastest Samsung we've tested, and we have the Note 10 that packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and 12GB of RAM. It doesn't contain the Snapdragon 855 Plus chip that has appeared in some Android phones in recent weeks, but nothing remains.

At the end of the day, the number of shots doesn't count as much as some say. This phone is incredibly fast.

With a multi-core Geekbench score of 10.849, it is one of the fastest Android smartphones we've tested. But this is not the fastest phone. This title still belongs to the iPhone XS, which will soon be replaced by the much faster iPhone 11.

The bottom line is that these rough benchmarks tell us that the Note 10 is fast enough to run the best 3D games for years to come and it also serves as a device to connect to and manage Windows 10. Desktop-like applications in Dex mode. At the end of the day, the number of shots doesn't count as much as some say. This phone is incredibly fast.

First note 10 camera samples

We always use the camera in various situations. Our next update, ahead of the full Note 10 review, will include plenty of sample photos and comparisons to the Google Pixel 3, iPhone XS Max, and Huawei P30 Pro.

But here is a sample of what we see so far.

Actual still images feature vibrant, punchy colors that are more saturated than images that are often dull but true to the color of a current iPhone. It's a bit like we've seen it on the S10 Plus.

The big upgrade to the Note 10 camera lies in its video capabilities. Therefore, we will test video stabilization during side-by-side comparisons. Is it really better? Can it compete with GoPro's built-in EIS stabilization? It's something we tested on Sunday in the 72 hour update.

We need the sun to go down and up several times before fully using the camera in various scenarios.

Tests in progress for a full exam

We have a lot more to say about the Note 10 plus and we should. It is the most advanced and expensive smartphone from Samsung. But we can't come to a conclusion with a star rating just yet. One-day criticisms do not interest us.

We'll test the Note 10's battery life, both in the lab and in the real world (so far, it's great), and we'll continue to take photos with the camera. 39, well-lit chamber, with medium and low lighting. There are four cameras on the back (if it includes Live Focus depth sensors) and one built into the front display.

Clearly, unpacking the Note 10 was just the first step. We still have some tests to complete before printing a final evaluation score on this device and determining where it ranks on our list of the best phones.
