The Samsung Galaxy M01 budget phone was launched in India in June with the Galaxy M11. Now, a new report claims that Samsung is working to bring the successor to the Galaxy M01 to the market soon. As you can guess, the successor will be called the Galaxy M02. The Samsung Galaxy M02 was recently discovered in the Geekbench database by MySmartPrice. According to the same report, the Samsung Galaxy M02 will carry the model number “SM-M025F”. The listing also revealed several other key specifications of the device.

(Image credit: Geekbench) As you can see in the images above, the Samsung Galaxy M01 scored 128 on the single-core test and 486 on the multi-core test. The device would be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 450 chipset clocked at 1.8GHz. Graphics will be handled by the Adreno 506 GPU. The device will be paired with 3GB of RAM as per the listing but we can expect the Galaxy M02 come in several variations. And finally, the Samsung Galaxy M02 would come with Android 10 out of the box. Other than that, the listing doesn't offer much information about Samsung's next home device. The Samsung Galaxy M01, which launched for Rs 8,999 in India, recently received a price cut that brought the price down to Rs 7,999. For context, the Galaxy M01 has a 5.7-inch HD+ TFT LCD screen with a resolution of 1560 x 720 pixels. It's powered by a slightly older Snapdragon 439 SoC, coupled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage with support for micro SD cards up to 512GB. It comes with a 13MP primary shooter tagged with a 2MP depth sensor. On the front you have a 5MP selfie shooter. Equipped with a 4000 mAH battery, the device does not support fast charging. It also lacks the physical fingerprint scanner, but it does have face unlock. It runs on a UI based on Android 10. We should find out more about the Galaxy M02 in the coming days and expect the price of the device to be under Rs 10.000 as well.
