Salesforce Extends Flow Automations to Mulesoft, Slack, and Tableau

Salesforce extends its Flow process automation tool to enable the creation and activation of a broader range of workflows and process automations from its larger family of business applications.

Announced in 2021, Flow is a low-code tool that initially consolidated several workflow and process automation tools for Salesforce users to create workflows between different parts of the Salesforce suite.

Now, since acquiring integration specialist Mulesoft, chat app Slack, and data visualization tool Tableau, the company is extending Flow to work across all of these apps.

“It's automation on a unified CRM platform. New Flow features give users the ability to trigger flows from analytics dashboards, use little code to easily integrate with any system, and interact with flows directly in Slack, where people spend most of their time,” said Patrick. Stokes, CEO of Salesforce. Platform.

Let's take them one by one.

Flow Integration for Mulesoft

Mulesoft is an enterprise tool that helps customers integrate their different applications and free data between them. With Flow Integration, users can integrate data from any business system into a workflow, including those on premises.

Salesforce is also looking to add robotic process automation features later this year, which should provide more intelligent automations like suggesting a data source or the next best action to take.

flow in the slack

Slack has been trying to help customers automate common actions within its chat app for a few years now, especially since it acquired Missions in 2018, which specializes in workflow automation.

By extending Flow for Slack later this year, customers will be able to automate manual tasks, like creating a new Slack channel when completing a transaction or sending an account status update, right in the chat app.

Flow Actions for Tableau

Finally, flow actions will allow Tableau users to start a new workflow or trigger actions directly from a dashboard when new data is added or a certain threshold is reached.
