Salesforce and AWS Strengthen Data Sharing and Interoperability
Salesforce and AWS have announced that they will significantly expand their strategic partnership to make it easier for customers to build and deploy business applications. By combining the capabilities of the world's best cloud computing service and CRM platform, developers will now be able to create and launch custom applications that extend the power of both platforms. Salesforce workflows and data can now be connected to solutions running on AWS, while developers can also integrate AWS workflows and data into their Salesforce applications. At the same time, Salesforce will also integrate AWS services for voice, video, artificial intelligence, and machine learning directly into new applications for sales, service, and industry. Current AWS CEO and future Amazon CEO Andy Jassy explained how customers will benefit from Salesforce and AWS taking their partnership to the next level in a press release, saying, “For more than five years, our customers have benefited from a close relationship between AWS and Salesforce. Now, we're taking the partnership to the next level by integrating our offerings so developers using AWS and Salesforce can build unified apps faster and easier than ever before. With this partnership, we're making life significantly easier for developers and enabling them to build apps the way they want, wherever they want in the world, and at any scale.

Combine Salesforce and AWS Capabilities

Thanks to the expanded partnership of Salesforce and AWS, customers will now be able to buy out-of-the-box solutions directly from Salesforce and then use AWS integrated services on a pay-as-you-go basis. Today, organizations around the world trust Salesforce to manage their customer relationships and build new applications that take advantage of the business platform. However, many of them also use AWS for their compute, storage, and database needs through Amazon Connect, Amazon Redshift, AWS Lambda, and other giant cloud technologies. Previously, developers had to use custom integration code to combine the capabilities of Salesforce and AWS in their applications. However, now they will be able to use the services of both companies without problems through new unified platforms. In addition to announcing details of their expanded partnership, Salesforce and AWS also unveiled new low-code development and click-to-launch tools to help accelerate the pace of building custom applications. Salesforce point-and-click development tools will work with data from Amazon RDS or Amazon S3 as if the data were native to Salesforce. All of the new products and integrations announced by both companies will be available next year, and we'll likely hear more details as we get closer to launch.
