Rings of Power Celebrimbor Wants to Meet a Certain Dwarf Character in Season 2

Full spoilers for The Rings of Power season 1 below. Potential season 2 spoilers are also coming.

Celebrimbor actor Charles Edwards wants The Rings of Power season 2 to feature a deep dwarf character, then explore their friendship in more detail.

Speaking exclusively to TechRadar ahead of Episode 8 of The Rings of Power, Edwards revealed how excited he'd be if the next entry in the High Fantasy Prime Video series included another dwarf from the Second Age of Middle-earth. The individual in question? Narvi, who shares a close friendship with Celebrimbor after the duo worked together on the Gates of Durin, the famous western gate of Khazad-dûm.

This gate was built by the two smiths in the Second Age, allowing routes of travel and trade between Khazad-dûm and Eregion during a prosperous time in elven-dwarven relations. However, it was sealed during the war of the Elves and Sauron, ending the ties of the realms. In the Third Age, it becomes the entry point for Frodo and company to enter the Mines of Moria in The Fellowship of the Ring.

Fans of The Lord of the Rings already know that the second season of The Rings of Power will mark the live-action debut of another elven character. This individual is Cirdan the Shipbuilder, one of the oldest elves in existence who is gifted with one of the titular rings of power. Cirdan is certain to receive one of these jewels after the three elven rings are forged in the Rings of Power season 1 finale.

Naturally, Edwards is delighted to see Cirdan being introduced in a live-action capacity. However, he would be just as excited, if not more, to see Narvi make her debut on the Lord of the Rings TV show. In the source material, there's little mention of the pair's close bond, so seeing another friendship between elves and dwarves on screen through Celebrimbor and Narvi would be riveting.

As exciting as Narvi's involvement in The Rings of Power season 2 is, Edwards isn't sure the dwarf character will appear in the show's next batch of Prime Video episodes. A lot will depend primarily on whether the show's writers and Amazon have the right to bring Narvi into the fold.

“This would be great,” Edwards said. “I mean, if the rights allow it, I don't know. I don't remember when Narvi is mentioned, or if he's allowed to participate.

"But I think the creation of the gates will be a wonderful thing, however fleeting. A lot of people don't know who Celebrimbor really is, but they know The Lord of the Rings and they know the gates of The Fellowship of the Ring. That would be great, and the Celebrimbor's name is also on the gate, so yeah, it would be great to explore Narvi's intro."
