Reliance Jio GigaFiber commercial launch could start on August 12

Reliance is preparing to announce the commercial launch of its Jio GigaFibre (FTTH) home fiber services beginning August 12. The Jio GigaFibre internet service was announced last year in July, with sign-ups for the preview starting August 15. Initially, Reliance had revealed that Jio GigaFiber would be available in 1100 cities in India and then more than 1600.

According to a report in The Hindu, the commercial launch of the JioGigaFiber and JioTV services will be announced at the Reliance Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for August 12.

The Reliance JioGigaFiber preview plan offers speeds of up to 100 Mbps and free access to the full suite of Jio applications. The bundle allows you to download / download free data worth 100GB as part of the preview offer for a price of ¥ 2,500, which is refundable.

Previously, the same plan was proposed at ¥ 4,500. But the provided GigaHub router only supported single band channels, which resulted in slower browsing speed and solved some issues, after which the plan was halted.

According to a report from LiveMint, Reliance plans to offer a triple combo package for its FTTH, JioTV and fixed services that could start at € 600 per month.

Reliance is currently the number one telecommunications company in India with more than 331.3 million subscribers as of June 2019. The company achieved this goal in just three years.

Previously, Vodafone Idea was the largest telecommunications operator, but the merger could not help the company keep its customers. As a result, the company experienced a decrease in its user base from 334.1 million to 320 million in the first quarter of 2019.
