In addition to these branding features, the Walmart page stated that the Sony WH-1000XM4 will have multi-point pairing, Bluetooth 5, and of course, best-in-class adaptive noise cancellation. A leaked product listing by Dell Canada showed a June 23 shipping date, suggesting an official release could be coming very soon, especially since we're now past that release window. What news will we get with the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones? A recent leak based on a teardown of the Sony Connect APK (Android Application Package) suggests that they could be some of the smartest headphones we've seen. According to Twitter user @justplayinghard, the Sony WH-1000XM4 will be able to connect to more than one device at a time, allowing you to quickly switch between them; however this seems to be limited to two devices. A 'smart talk' feature would allow the Sony WH-1000XM4 to detect a voice, it will automatically turn on ambient sound, allowing ambient noise to pass through the headphones so you can hear the conversation without removing your headphones. After a time of your choosing (Fast, Medium, Slow, or None), noise cancellation will reset. According to XDA Developers (who corroborated the leaks with their own teardown), "users will also be able to adjust the voice detection sensitivity from Automatic (depending on ambient sound), High, or Low should users find it." active too often (such as when the speaker is nearby) or too little (such as when in a vehicle). You can toggle this setting from the app or (probably) from the headset's NC/Ambient button. " The Sony WH-1000XM4 would also be "capable of modifying some (if not all) of the headphone settings depending on its location (defined location or yours) and uses. Google Maps API for this.” Sounds like audio quality will also improve. Teardown of the Sony Connect app revealed code strings for something called “DSEE Extreme.” The Sony WH-1000XM3 already uses a feature called DSEE HX to update sound sources to a higher quality: DSEE Extreme is probably an improved version of this technology.See the video below: Sony's counterpart or WH-1000XM4 on Anatel. The photos showed a nearly identical design to the WH-1000XM3, which was corroborated by the APK teardown, which suggested that the design of the earphones wouldn't change drastically and that they would be available in black, white, and money. However, an accompanying user manual points to the latest Bluetooth 5.0 standard (instead of Bluetooth 4.2) for better wireless connection over greater distances, as well as reduced 2V (from 8V) power consumption, which should make it the cans are more economical and help the battery. life (now set to 40 hours instead of 36 hours). There's also mention of a "talk to chat" feature that should let you use a wake-up call to talk to a voice assistant, rather than using a dedicated button. None of that is officially confirmed though, and we've got our own list of features we really want to see when the headphones finally launch.
