Google has confirmed that the phone will be coming to the US, UK and Australia, and you can now pre-order it directly from the store at google line. Google Pixel 5 layout and display
The design of the Google Pixel 5 is what you see above. The phone comes in two colors with strange names: Sorta Sage (a green color) and Just Black (it's just black). The body of the phone is made from recycled aluminum, which is notable because most phones have a glass or plastic back. The main reason metal is rarely used is that you can't use wireless charging through metal, but the Pixel 5 still has this feature because, as Android Central's Daniel Bader revealed, there is a small hole in the back. top of the wireless charging coil that is coated with resin and painted to match the aluminum. (Image credit: Google) The phone is IPX8 waterproof which means you can submerge this device in water for half an hour. The phone weighs 151 grams and has dimensions of 144,7 x 70,4 x 8 mm. The Pixel 5 comes with a 6-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340, or 432 pixels per inch. It's an always-on display and it's an OLED panel. Google has included 90Hz technology here, so the screen refresh rate will be faster than many other devices with smoother scrolling and transitions. That said, it's not as good as some high-end phones with a 120Hz refresh rate, while the recently announced Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro offers a 144Hz refresh rate.

(Image credit: Google) There's a USB-C port at the bottom of the phone, but no 3,5mm headphone jack here. The phone also comes with stereo speakers, but a 3.5mm audio jack is not included in the box. Unlike the Pixel 4, the Pixel 5 comes with a fingerprint scanner. It's on the back of the phone, and the company ditched its 3D Face Unlock technology that sat on the top bezel of the phone last year. This allowed Google to cut the bezel off the top of the phone, but it also means the company has also ditched its Soli gesture technology so you won't get it on the Pixel 5.

It features a 12.2 MP dual-pixel shooter with a pixel width of 1.4μm, and there's also an ultra-wide shooter. of 16 MP. This replaces the telephoto lens on last year's phone, which some may overlook, but you'll likely enjoy the widescreen camera more in everyday life. The company's impressive Night Sight and Portrait modes are back on the Pixel 5. We've found similar cameras on previous phones to perform wonderfully in our reviews of these older phones, so we're hoping to get a similar result here. It's worth noting that the new Google Pixel 4a 5G appears to have the exact same camera setup, so if you don't want to spend as much as this phone costs, you always can. On the front of the phone you will find an 8 MP selfie camera. It appears to be similar to previous Google phones, which we saw do well in our tests.

(Image credit: Google) Unlike previous Pixel flagships, the Pixel 5 doesn't have the high-end chipset you'd expect. Instead, the company went with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which won't be as powerful as chipsets you'll find in phones like the OnePlus 8 Pro or Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. That said, the phones we've seen with this chipset have been powerful enough for day-to-day tasks, so we expect it to be a similar story with the Pixel 5 when we get to test the phone. There is 8 GB of RAM in the phone and 128 GB of storage. There's no microSD support and Google hasn't announced other storage variants for the Pixel 5 yet, so it'll be limited to just 128GB. There is a 4080 mAh battery inside the phone and the company has also included wireless charging. There's also a reverse charging feature called Battery Sharing, so you can use your Pixel 5 to charge compatible devices. It supports 18W fast charging and the right charger to help you achieve these speeds is included in the box. Google claims that the phone will last a full day on a single charge, and we'll be sure to put that claim to the test in our full review. The Google Pixel 4's battery life wasn't all that impressive, so we hope Google has improved things here.

(Image credit: Google) You also get 5G connectivity on the Pixel 5, but keep in mind that you'll need to have a 5G contract and live in an area with 5G connectivity to take full advantage of it. The Google Pixel 5 comes with Android 11, which is the latest version of its operating system from the company. You can expect this device to receive software updates for at least the next few years, and you should receive them on or close to day one. There are also improvements to Google's own apps that you can get on the Pixel. For example, the Recorder app, which records voice memos and automatically transcribes them, will now allow you to edit audio when you delete it directly from the transcript.
