Unexpected Redmi 9 already appears on Xiaomi's website
It seems that Xiaomi is preparing to introduce the Redmi 9 to the global market as the phone has been spotted on Xiaomi's global website. The reveal came shortly after the phone maker introduced the Redmi Note 9 on the world stage. The phone appeared on the Xiaomi Global RF certification page. The page usually contains the names of released devices that meet required radio wave exposure guidelines, but sometimes it also receives information from unmatched phones, as it did with the Redmi 9. As a result, the model number - M2004J19G - of the phone was also on display. Xiaomi also doesn't seem to be in a rush to remove the entry because it's still there.

The model, along with a similar one, M2004J19C, was in the CCC (3C) database. Though the latter has a 10W charger while the Redmi 8 series supports 18W charging. It's the best hint we have on the phone yet. Previous leaks suggested that the Redmi 9 could be equipped with a MediaTek Helio G80 or MediaTek Helio G70 SoC, while the Redmi 8 has a Snapdragon 439 chip. Furthermore, an image leak revealed quad cameras. The setup is reportedly made up of a 13 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, and a 5 MP macro camera with a 2 MP depth sensor. Either of the two new chips, if used, would be a much-needed upgrade as consumers complained about a disappointing processor in the Redmi 8. Interestingly, the new Redmi 10X, which was supposed to be a Chinese version of the global Redmi 9 , it was also recently revealed to be equipped with the Helio G70. The octa-core chip has two Cortex A75 cores plus six A55 cores compared to the quad-core Cortex-A439 Snapdragon 53.
