After a somewhat slow start to the year, Realme is pushing hard for the second half of 2021. With plenty of high-end smartphones and new product categories, it will also enter the laptop segment. Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India, posted a new teaser on Twitter today, which is the first official teaser of Realme's upcoming laptop. The tweets contain an image of a laptop that is subtly visible in a metallic gray finish. Also, the text of the tweet is encoded in ASCII, which translates to "Hello world." For those who don't know, Hello World is a popular term in programming languages and is also the first code executed by many. Here it refers to Realme entering a completely new product line. A few months ago, Realme launched an online user survey which included some laptop related questions. The questions asked if users planned to buy a new laptop in the next three months and, if they did, how much they would be willing to spend on it. The survey also found that the price of laptops could be between Rs 30,000 and Rs 50,000, a sweet spot for India. So far, we don't have any leaks on the Realme laptop at the moment. But we expect the buzz to start in a few days as the company is expected to offer the new line of laptops in the coming weeks. The Realme laptop comes at a time when the demand for affordable computers is at its peak. Last year, Xiaomi entered the laptop market in India with its Mi Notebook 14 series and has seen some success. We have also seen brands like Honor, Nokia and Vaio enter the notebook segment in India. Realme is now planning to take a slice of the pie in the laptop segment in India and for that it will once again compete with its big rival Xiaomi.
