Realme 7 series leaks, specifications, launch date and price in India
Realme's number sets have helped it quickly become a household name in the budget smartphone segment in India. To keep the momentum going, the Realme 7 series will be unveiled in a few weeks. With the Realme 6 series, the company took the crown for the most affordable smartphones with a high refresh rate display, a feature that the competition has yet to master. Even amid stiff competition from the house of Xiaomi and new offerings from Samsung and Motorola, Realme has managed to capture around 14% (Q2020 6) of the market share in India. Realme's current portfolio consists of the entry-level C-series, followed by the mid-range digital series, topped by the flagship, high-end X-series. Realme 6 and 7 Pro were launched in March, about six months earlier. The Realme 20,000 series will likely include several smartphones in the sub-Rs XNUMX segment. We also expect it to improve in areas like cameras, upload speeds, and refresh rates. More details should emerge as the release gets closer. So far, our expectations are mostly based on leaks.

Come to the point

Realme 7 series release date

Realme has yet to officially announce a launch date for the Series 7 in India. Based on the leaks and trailers, this should happen in a few weeks, in the first few weeks of September. If that timeline holds up, it will be the brand's fastest update to its popular digital series, as the Realme 6 series launched in March.

Integrated

Realme V5 with the new design (Image credit: Realme) Realme is slowly moving away from its outdated vertical camera design for newer camera designs and new finishes. We expect the Realme 7 series to adopt the new design update with a square camera body and larger branding on the back. Ishan Agarwal suggests that there will be new Silver, White and Blue colors this time, presumably under a glass panel.

Monitor

The Realme 6 series remains the most affordable smartphone in India with a high refresh rate display. We expect the Realme 7 series to continue this trend by offering at least a 90Hz panel, with the 7 Pro possibly dialing it up to 120Hz. The panel build should still be LCD at this price.

Performance

This is where things get a bit confusing. The Realme 6 series has either the Snapdragon 720G chipset or the MediaTek Helio G90T while the Realme X3 series has the Snapdragon 855 Plus. For the Realme 7 series to be among them, the choice of chipset is not obvious. The most likely candidate is the Snapdragon 730/730G, which is still rare in the sub-Rs 20K segment. However, we could also be surprised with something like the Snapdragon 765G or a Dimensity chipset, but it seems difficult at this price.

Cameras

Photography has been one of the strong points of Realme smartphones recently. The Realme 7 series will have no less than four cameras on the back. Details are still scant, but we expect there to be a high-res primary shooter and an ultra-wide lens on both, while the Pro could have a true telephoto lens as well. The last sensor can be a depth sensor or a macro lens.

battery and charging

As always, the batteries of both devices will be between 4000 and 4500 mAh. With even the most affordable Realme phones now offering fast charging, we could see the Realme 7 Pro go one step further by offering 55W or 65W Super Dart charging, which will be the best in this mile-long segment. Even if it's not, it's safe to assume a dart load of 30W or more to complete the cut.

Prices in India

As per Realme's new product fork, the Realme 7 series is expected to occupy the mid-premium segment of around Rs 20.000. As per the current market scenario, the Realme 7 could start at around Rs 17.000 while the 7 Pro could cross Rs 20.000. Unfortunately, this bit cannot be verified until the phones are officially released.
