Game developer Ubisoft has finally revealed what the reworked Rainbow Six Siege Tachanka will look like. The redesign has been on the cards for a long time and was even teased by FPS developers earlier this year when the Roadmap was revealed. And now the developers have announced that the reworked Tachanka is finally ready to hit the game's test servers. For the record, Tachanka has been a notoriously weak character since his introduction. In fact, the character has become premium material and has even been used by professional gamers to troll their opponents.
The Reworked Tachanka
Tachanka in Rainbow Six Siege, prior to this revamp, was a slow, heavily armored defender with decent weapons. But the downfall of him was his special ability, which was the DP27 LMG that was mounted on a tripod and fixed in one position. This greatly limited the scope of the character. The hotfix gives him the unmounted DP27 LMG as his primary weapon. For the record, the DP27 LMG is a devastating weapon that eats away at soft walls, and the mobility makes it even more so. The LMG now comes with a special scope that can be equipped. Additionally, Tachanka's new special ability is the new Shumika Grenade Launcher, which fires incendiary grenades. These are highly capable of area denying and are controlled by enemies. The Shumika launcher has a five-round magazine and a high rate of fire. Grenades bounce off walls, giving Tachanka the ability to reach places with no line of sight. Unlike Smoke's gas cans, Tachanka can get hurt by his own grenades, and now has the ability to resist if hurt, something only Zofia was capable of until now. Tachanka's loadout now includes either the DP27 LMG or the 9x19VSN SMG as the primary weapon. And PMM or GSH-18 for the secondaries. The accompanying devices include the barbed wire or the proximity alarm. The Tachanka rework is now available on the PC test server for a testing phase before going live on the main server for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
