PUBG: New State is now available on mobile devices, and unsurprisingly, there are problems

The day has finally come: the new version of PUBG Mobile, called PUBG: New State, has finally launched for Android and iOS owners, after many months of hype after an initial presentation in mid-2020. You can find PUBG: New State on the Google Play Store here if you have an Android device, or the Apple App Store here if you are an iPhone or iPad user. This is an app around 1,5 GB so it may take a while to download depending on your connection speed. If you want to jump into the game and start piloting drones, shooting strangers, and traversing a futuristic city map, you might be in for some trouble as the game seems to be having trouble connecting.

'Unable to connect to server'

When new multiplayer games are released, in the first few hours or days there are often server issues as many people try to play online at the same time. This is exactly what is happening to PUBG: New State. The Play Store listing's comments are full of complaints about people not being able to log in, and the game's official Twitter account posted a message saying that it "is looking to fix this issue quickly." This type of issue is often resolved by the end of launch day, so if you want to play the game, we recommend waiting a few hours. Judging by other Play Store reviews and various discussion threads on the game's subreddit, reactions to the game are mixed: some seem to enjoy it, but others say the graphics aren't great and the gameplay isn't great. The user interface is cluttered. We can't wait to see for ourselves how the game plays out... as soon as we can connect to it.
