PUBG Mobile introduces the Lite version for Android

As is often the case with most popular mobile games, PUBG Mobile has also evolved over time and has become a great download for its users. However, following the departure of Tencent Holdings from the scene, the company has now announced a new update that reduces the size of the game to just 610MB. Previously, PUBG Mobile weighed in at close to 2 GB, meaning it was one of the heaviest games in the mobile space. The large size also limited the ability to play the game for those who did not have the best smartphones on the market.

PUBG Mobile: lightweight install feature

The latest updated installation was announced with the PUBG Mobile update 1.1. According to the patch notes, this new feature, which will ``provide a better gaming experience,'' was released as an update on November 10. The patch notes suggest that the fresh install would account for 610MB of storage space on Android devices. "Download this small package now to try a smoother and more stable experience. Players can download whatever content they want in the game. Download the 332MB package for better graphics or the 592MB package for improved visuals." says. Unfortunately, the minimum download size for iOS is still 1,63 GB. And the blog does not mention whether iOS devices will receive this light version soon. Additional resources are expected to be uploaded for use with the blog, which also suggests that the rating for uploads has improved as well. Also, there are rumors that when PUBG Mobile India launches, it will probably share this lightweight installation feature, which would mean that it would have a smaller download size. This will be helpful for those with limited internet speeds as the game would download faster and be easier to play. Right now, as PUBG Mobile India has been announced by the company, it seems that the government is not very interested in removing it.
