All indications point to the PS5 being a gigantic console, but now it looks like it could also be one of the heaviest ever made by Sony. We've already seen educated guesses about the size of the PlayStation 5 based on its disc drive, and now it looks like its weight will match its towering dimensions. An eagle-eyed user on Reddit saw a listing from Amazon Germany that claims the PS5 weighs 10.54 pounds, or 4.78 kg. It might not sound like much, but it's much heavier than all but one of Sony's previous models. If you're ever not satisfied with lifting an original PlayStation 3, the good news is that the PS5 is a bit lighter than Sony's 2006 console. The PS3 weighed 11 pounds (5 kg), making it 0.46 pounds heavier than Sony's latest and greatest machine. The PS4, on the other hand, tips the scales at a fairly slim 6.17lbs (2.8kg), while the PS4 Pro clocks in at a healthy 7.3lbs (3.3kg). How does this compare to other devices? Well, the Xbox One X, which looks remarkably dense when picked up, weighs 3.81kg (8.4lbs), while the original Xbox One is surprisingly light at just 7lbs (3.2kg). The Xbox Series X also undercuts the PS5 , the console weighs 4.45 kg (9.81 lbs).
