The latest Nintendo Direct arrived today with new details on some familiar titles, but as the Japanese gaming giant has known for some time, some big surprises have been revealed as well.

Although it's been known for some time that Overwatch would make its way to the Switch, Nintendo has officially confirmed that Blizzard's hit online shooter will land on the console on October 15.

A preview of the release of Overwatch: Legendary Edition was first unveiled on Nintendo Direct, showcasing the game's ability to be played in handheld mode on the console, with some additional gyro motion controls included.

The announcement, and immediate release, of the epic RPG Divinity: Original Sin 2 is undoubtedly one of the biggest surprises. The definitive edition of the game is now available for sale for Nintendo Switch.

You can play this RPG in turns or online with up to four players in your party. As this is the final version, all current and future downloadable content is also included.

For those who have already played the game on PC or Mac via Steam and want to track their character's progress, the final edition allows you to share cloud backups between the two platforms. This could even allow you to play around with the Switch's portable mode and then continue the progression of your home on your computer.
