Oppo's Reno Z is a premium phone at a budget price
Coming close to the impressive Oppo Reno 10x Zoom, the Chinese phone maker has launched a new entry in the Reno range, which promises to maintain the high-end style of the series while cutting costs significantly. However, many flagship features have managed to stay on this cost-effective alternative, such as a stellar 8GB RAM, a fast-charging VOOC fingerprint scanner, an AMOLED display, and a glamorous aesthetic.

You'll also have to contend with 128GB of built-in storage because the memory can't be expanded via microSD. The Reno Z also offers some gaming-based features like Dolby Atmos stereo speakers and Game Boost 2.0 mode that optimizes the phone to improve performance and reduce input lag. While both rear camera arrangements on the phones are equipped with a 48MP sensor from Sony, you won't get the 10x absolute zoom capabilities of the more affordable Reno Z. You can use Ultra Night mode, though, and the 32MP front-facing camera combined with Oppo's beautification features should be a joy to take selfies with.

The more expensive 6.4-inch AMOLED screen still displays the same resolution (2,340 x 1,080), offering an even higher pixel density than its first sibling. In Australia, the Oppo Reno Z is available at AU$499 in Aurora Purple or Jet Black from JB Hi-Fi. Availability and prices in other areas, such as the United Kingdom, remain to be confirmed.
