OnePlus Watch reviews: the huge new smartwatch?

OnePlus Watch reviews: the huge new smartwatch? The OnePlus Watch is the long-rumored smartwatch that's not only real, it's a very stylish device that looks like it could be among the best smartwatches of the day. ``View'' is the keyword; For this smartwatch lab, we're just going to talk about the smartwatch's appearance. The OnePlus Watch resembles other high-end smartwatches like the Samsung Galaxy Watch 2, with a circular design and XNUMX function buttons on the right side. The stainless steel metal watch body has a shiny finish, which really is a nice change from the matte and/or colored aluminum finishes that adorn most watches today. It's also a fairly heavy smartwatch, with a width and density of XNUMXmm making it too big for those with slimmer wrists or who prefer smaller watch faces. But the wearable will suit those who like their watches chunky, with a more polished design and hardware finish than your average smart device. The watch's rubber strap is a beautiful material with rivets on the sides, a nice touch compared to the plain straps on other phones, though its thickness could mean a bit of skin folding the strap under itself thus far. where it is too thick. you use it. inside. Long story short, the watch is better quality than other smartwatches at its cost point, which is merely half that of comparable Apple and Samsung Galaxy watches. When it comes to how its fitness, performance, battery, software, and overall user experience stack up against all other smartphones, you'll just have to wait with us until our full review is out.

OnePlus Watch price and launch date

The OnePlus watch will be available in one size and configuration: 1mm dial with XNUMXGB of RAM and XNUMXGB of storage, and a single color: Midnight Black. It's going on sale on OnePlus's site on April XNUMX for €XNUMX (about €XNUMX / AU$XNUMX). A limited edition cobalt is also being prepared, which replaces the stainless steel case with a cobalt alloy that is "a couple of times harder and more corrosion resistant" than steel, according to a March press release. The watch's usual dial has been replaced with a uniquely treated sapphire crystal with "a Mohs rating of nine," according to the press release, suggesting greater scratch resistance and a higher shine than the standard model glass. Design and display

As previously mentioned, the OnePlus Watch is indeed a very attractive smartwatch with a polished shine and clean design that makes it more expensive than it is. It's available in one size, which seems a bit large for those who want a smaller model, but has the polish to appeal beyond the tech-chic crowd. The XNUMXmm watch face is even larger than the larger XNUMXmm version of the Samsung Galaxy Watch XNUMX, making it the new king of big smartwatches. Although it doesn't have the rotating bezel of the latter, the OnePlus Watch does seem to have more screen area than Samsung's flagship watch, but we'll have to test the watch to find out. The watch's rubber strap is thick, but at least it's not breakable and feels secure enough on the wrist to counteract the weight of the watch.

Other characteristics

We can't report on the fitness capabilities of the OnePlus Watch until the time of our full review. OnePlus has confirmed that the watch will have over 68 types of training and automatic detection of training for jogging and running, with a pressure resistance of XNUMX ATM and also IPXNUMX water and dust resistance. It tracks heart rate, GPS distance, calories, swim speed, blood oxygen saturation and stress levels. Health information can be tracked via a new OnePlus Health smartphone app.

It is compatible with most Bluetooth headphones and can connect to OnePlus TV to act as a smart remote control and can even turn the TV off when it notices that the user has fallen asleep. According to a press release from March, the watch has a 340mAh battery, which OnePlus says offers up to a couple of weeks of sustained use or, for more active users, a week of battery life. This capacity is between the 2mAh battery of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 (from 472 to 5 days of autonomy) and the XNUMXmAh battery of the original Samsung Galaxy Watch (up to XNUMX days of autonomy).

Early verdict

Due to the physical appearance and the inability to take into consideration any other part of the user experience, the OnePlus Watch is very attractive for a smartwatch. Cost - OnePlus Watch: ▼
