OnePlus TV Supports Out-of-the-Box Reliance Jio Streaming Apps: Report

Reliance Jio is testing its streaming apps for the upcoming OnePlus TV. OnePlus confirmed earlier that day that its TV would simply call OnePlus TV, as previously speculated.

According to a 91Mobiles report, Reliance Jio is testing its streaming apps for "compatibility" with OnePlus TV. Although we did not have any information about the applications tested and developed for OnePlus TV, the company officially revealed the logo for its next product line just a few hours ago.

According to the 91Mobiles report citing industry sources, OnePlus TV could be preloaded with the Jio suite of apps upon launch. According to rumors, OnePlus is planning a launch date for its smart TV in India at the end of September.

When OnePlus decides to bring its range of TVs (yes, there are more than one!), It will certainly try to provide as much Indian content as possible. Thanks to a partnership between Jio and OnePlus, the Chinese electronics manufacturer will have access to decent titles. Don't forget that we currently don't have any information on which Jio apps can make it to OnePlus TV, if any.

This report follows the 2019 Reliance Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on August 12. During the General Assembly, Reliance announced that its Fiber to the Home (FTTH) service, Jio Fiber, would go live on September 5. The service will provide users with a 4K Jio set-top box that will be preloaded with top OTT subscriptions, as well as access to AAA game titles.

Last year, we had first heard of an Android smart TV from OnePlus. So, assuming the leaks and the information coming out of the rumor are true, we could see the televisions in person later this year.
