OnePlus North will launch on July 21 in augmented reality
OnePlus has done an amazing job of accelerating its upcoming return to the affordable smartphone space. Amidst all the hype, one key detail was still missing: when will OnePlus North launch? It seems that July 21 will finally be the date of presentation of the phone. And to take things a step further, OnePlus will be hosting the entire keynote in augmented reality! It is difficult to know how this will be achieved, as AR requires powerful hardware and a stable connection on the viewer side as well. Some launch details can be found on Amazon India as a "OnePlus North AR Launch Invitation" can be seen in the listing. A closer look shows a QR code that takes us to the launch landing page, but it's not currently online. More details are to follow as OnePlus has yet to officially announce the release date. OnePlus North

(Image credit: Amazon/OnePlus) Some specifics of the OnePlus Nord have already been shared. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G chipset, with 5G capability thrown into the mix. It will also be the first OnePlus device to sport a dual selfie camera design, with a 32MP main shooter and an 8MP wide-angle lens. The teasing designs point to a sleek glass sandwich with the camera positioned vertically along the corner. This will mark OnePlus' return to the affordable space that fans have been asking for for years. We also expect to see a new language and design philosophy in the North, as it is aimed at a slightly different demographic. The price is also confirmed to be "less than €500", which is a pretty wide range. Like the 8 series, the OnePlus Nord should be a bit more competitive in India. OnePlus will also share more product details in the coming days through a series of short documentaries that talk about the birth of the North. The next episode will go online tomorrow, where we expect the release date to be announced. Via Ishan Agarwal (original tweet deleted)
