For some time, OnePlus has been teasing about the upcoming OnePlus 8, from its 120Hz display refresh rate to its possible wireless charging, and the company has just confirmed a few specs for the phone. The highlight here, however, is official confirmation of what we've already assumed: OnePlus 8 phones will use the Snapdragon 865 chipset, the highest-end processor available today, which is also visible in the Samsung Galaxy S20 and phones. Xiaomi Mi 10, among others. This ensures that the OnePlus 8 range will have eye-catching processing power, perfect for gaming, image editing and more, and that they will be 5G phones. This chipset also increases efficiency, with Lau, the OnePlus 8 will be 25% more power efficient than previous phones in the range. Another fact detailed by Lau is that the phones will have LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.0 flash memory, advanced methods of reading and writing phone memory, which are supposed to be faster and more energy efficient than phone technology. The effect this could have on you is that apps and files can load significantly faster, and the AI (in the camera app) will be faster too.
