Older MacBooks With Charging Issues Get Official Fix From Apple

If you own a 2016 or 2017 Apple MacBook model, you may have encountered a bug that prevented your device from charging properly; Fortunately, there is an official solution for that. As AppleInsider noted, Apple today released macOS 11.2.1 with an incremental patch for the biggest update to the operating system that it released last week. It only has two changes, but one of them fixes the loading bug mentioned above. Affected devices would continue to work with plugged in power, but in several cases the MacBook battery would not charge. Apple promises that macOS 11.2.1 fixes this problem. The other change fixes a flaw that potentially allowed hackers to access a user's MacBook through a sudo vulnerability. Similar incremental updates fixing this flaw have also been released for macOS Catalina and Mojave. As always, you can manually download the update by going to System Preferences > Software Update, or you'll find it automatically installed if automatic updates are turned on.
