O2 Launches Unlimited Data Plans On Mobile Deals Before Implementing 5G

Following the recent launch by EE and Vodafone of unlimited data plans (and Three who have been offering unlimited data for years), O2 has implemented its own unlimited data plans.

These start at € 33 per month with an 18-month SIM card, or can be purchased at € 35 per month with a 12-month SIM plan and with variable prices and select phones.

This includes 5G phones like the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus 5G. Notably, the current O2 5G network won't launch until October and only offers 4G plans at the moment, but if you grab a 5G phone, you can upgrade to a 5G package as soon as it launches. O2 confirmed that they would be too. be offered with unlimited data.

Perfect for 5G

This is a good thing, because if unlimited data can benefit everyone, it will undoubtedly be more useful in 5G, with all the speed that makes downloading apps, games and videos so much bigger. as long as you have the necessary data.

Unlimited O2 data is also available as part of your family plan, as well as the O2 Open and O2 Student plans, which can save you money.

That's good too, because the starting prices for unlimited O2 data don't seem super competitive. Vodafone, for example, offers unlimited data on the 5G at € 30 per month with an 18-month package with only one SIM card, while from 3 you can get unlimited data for € 20 per month with a 12-month package.

O2 is at least competitive with EE, which offers unlimited data starting at € 34 per month, but EE also has a live 5G network, which O2 doesn't have yet. However, offering unlimited data is a big step in the right direction.
