Nvidia will be at Computex, but don't expect an RTX 3080 Ti

Nvidia will be at Computex, but don't expect an RTX 3080 Ti Nvidia has announced its Computex keynote, which will take place on June 1, but we don't expect gamers to hold their breath for a shiny new RTX 3080 Ti. Team Green has announced some details about the upcoming keynote on their blog. Nvidia VP Jeff Fisher will talk about graphics, but we expect our focus to be more on addressing stock shortages, rather than releasing new graphics cards, and that mostly depends on what's out there. Namely, it looks like the keynote will focus more on AI and data center computing, specifically how Nvidia can "democratize AI to bring more AI capabilities to market and reach more businesses." It's still possible that Nvidia will announce an RTX 3080 Ti, and many rumors suggest the graphics card is coming soon, but we don't see it sharing the spotlight with AI products. If anything, the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti will likely have their own dedicated announcement showcase, and remember that E3 2021 is just around the corner, starting on June 12. Either way, we won't know what Nvidia has in store for Computex 2021 until the event kicks off on June 1. And you can be sure we'll spot the green team up our sleeves.

Ok but wait

Rumors about Nvidia following the GeForce RTX 3080 with an RTX 3080 Ti have been everywhere since the RTX 3080 launched in September 2020. Don't get me wrong, chances are there will be an RTX 3080 Ti at some point, but we don't think it's at Computex. For at least the last five years, Nvidia has used Computex to primarily promote its AI and enterprise solutions. And, yes, there will be a gaming component this year, but it happens every year. At Computex 2019, Nvidia released Quake II on RTX, with the show's main focus on its Studio program. And, in 2018, Team Green used the gaming segment of its keynote to focus on expanding the Max-Q line of gaming laptops, not new silicon. There's also the issue of GPU availability. Nvidia wouldn't look too good announcing a new graphics card when so many people are scrambling to get one. Mainly because recent rumors continue to indicate that the RTX 3080 Ti is a stripped down version of the GA102 core in the RTX 3090. Normally, a graphics card with a stripped down version of the RTX 3090 would make sense. Nvidia could increase performance, but the RTX 3080 already uses a scaled-down version of the GA102, and Nvidia can't keep that on store shelves either. None of this means that Nvidia can't exceed expectations to announce a new graphics card, we're just saying that it would be highly irregular if it did. Today's best deals on graphics cards
