New Xiaomi 12 Ultra renders show what that massive camera could look like

Leaks about the upcoming Xiaomi 12 series are happening often enough to reveal what the family of phones may have in store for us. The new range is expected to include many variations, but the so-called Ultra model is of particular interest to us.

Recently, a bunch of protective cases for the entire Xiaomi 12 lineup were leaked, revealing what the back panel of the respective phones might look like. Among these leaked images, the protective cover of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra caught our attention due to the large camera cutout and the lack of a secondary screen.

The protective cases show room for a giant camera module on the back with eight cutouts in total. The largest one is circular and sits right in the middle of this giant module.

It's fair to assume that other camera sensors will fit directly inside the remaining cutouts. This is surprising, as the phone's predecessor only had three rear cameras.

Now LetsGoDigital, in collaboration with graphic designer Technizo Concept, conceptualized the following versions of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra based on those leaked protective cases to give us an idea of what the device might look like when it appears.

The Dutch website also shared a video showing the speculative appearance of the front of the phone. He imagined that the smartphone would be both black and white.

Take these renderings with a pinch of salt as we still don't know exactly about the design, but this is the best look yet at what these protective cases suggest the Mi 12 series will ultimately look like.

The exact specifications of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra remain unknown, but the site claims that a trusted tipster named Teme was able to share the details needed to render the render. The source also said that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra could be equipped with a 50 MP wide-angle camera.

This could be the Samsung ISOCell GN5 image sensor that enables improved Dual Pixel Pro autofocus. It is the successor to the ISOCell GN2, which was used in the Mi 11 Ultra phone.

The secondary camera could be a 48MP ultra-wide lens and the third could be a periscope telephoto zoom. Judging by the 11 Ultra, it's likely to have 5x optical zoom, 10x hybrid zoom, and 120x digital zoom.

Details of the fourth chamber remain unknown at this time. What appears to the right of the fourth camera is also unknown. Other sensors on the right may include a dToF laser autofocus system. At the bottom there could also be a triple LED flash as seen on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra.

It is worth mentioning that the same informant previously said that Xiaomi has made a deal with Leica. Therefore, we believe that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra could show the prowess of this association.

Concept renderings also show a rounded screen with a perforated cutout at the top center of the screen. According to the site, it is possible to see a 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with QHD Plus resolution and 120Hz refresh rate.

The site suspects that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra could include Harmon Kardon speakers for a high-quality sound experience. Other suspect specs include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, Android 12, and a powerful battery with 120W fast-charging technology.
