Naturally, a Porsche-inspired gaming chair would cost like a sports car.

Porsche has entered into a rather unexpected cooperation with seat maker RECARO to produce a gaming chair based on the former's sports cars.

With the rather unappealing moniker, RECARO x Porsche Gaming Chair Limited Edition (opens in a new tab), the chair leans more toward comfort than race-car-inspired fashion, and that's surely a good thing.

Gaming chairs are notoriously lacking in ergonomics, as manufacturers tend to prefer good looks over comfort. And playing or working for hours on end, you will definitely start to feel pain in your lower back. To address this issue head-on, the Porsche Gaming Chair comes with an "anti-dive seat ramp," meaning the cushion sits at an upward angle, and "firm lumbar support." Everything sits on a lightweight aluminum base so gamers can sit comfortably in the chair and not worry about slipping.

Porsche adds that the chair is made of "high-quality upholstery foam and breathable canvas" for year-round seating comfort; clearly a welcome feature for those hot summer days. And the last notable feature is the 5D armrest, which can be adjusted in many ways to get the perfect fit. Overall, you can play sitting upright without dealing with back pain. It's always a good practice to get up and stretch your legs a bit after hours of sitting (speaking here from experience).

Availability

True to its name, the Porsche Gaming Chair Limited Edition is going to be limited to 3 units. This supposedly random number is most likely a reference to the late-model Porsche 2,499 GT15 R car. Pre-orders are now available for a whopping €XNUMX. Its shipping date is set for March XNUMX.

If the Porsche Gaming Chair looks familiar, it's because it's nearly identical to RECARO's Exo Platinum Sky (Opens in a new tab). According to the product page, both chairs are made from the same breathable fabrics, have the same 5D armrests, the same aluminum base, and a load capacity of up to 150kg (330lbs). The only real differences seem to be the exterior design: the Porsche Gaming Chair matches the look of the 911 GT3 R and even has the car's logo embroidered on the headrest.

It seems that the Porsche chair is a more expensive American version of the Exo Platinum Sky. This chair will cost you 1.249 euros (around US euros1.350).

We've reached out to Porsche to find out if this is a US exclusive or if it's shipping worldwide. This story will be updated if we get any new ones.
