More Details on New Apple Tracking Tags Revealed

We've already heard rumors that Apple is working on a personal effects tracking tool, just like tile tracking tools you may be familiar with, and now more and more details have been revealed on how they will work.

According to research conducted by MacRumors in an internal version of iOS 13, this accessory will help you "mark your everyday objects" and "do not lose them."

Everything you tag with any of these trackers (keys, wallets, backpacks, etc.) will appear in the new Find My app provided with iOS 13. This will be the perfect place to track all your Apple products, from iPhones. on MacBooks

MacRumors has even discovered an image of the upcoming tracker in the iOS 13 code, although it may not exactly match the look of the finished product.

The idea is that once the app detects that it has detached from one of your Apple tags (and everything attached to it), it starts to beep. You can set "safe places", like your home, where this doesn't happen .

The code also suggests that users can also put tags in "lost mode", allowing you to call other iPhone owners to find the item (this appears to be the same system for searching for lost MacBooks in iOS 13).

Finally, there will also be an augmented reality aspect to the app, guiding you to your lost items via an overlay on the camera screen.

This all sounds very similar to what tile trackers and other similar products can already do, but if you want to know more about Apple's technology, these tags should be released on September 10 with the new iPhones.
