Minecraft finally becomes a Lego simulator - here's how to play
Minecraft has often been called a virtual Lego sim, and now it's finally going by that name thanks to a fan-made texture pack. The MineBricks pack turns most Minecraft blocks, items, and monsters into brick versions of themselves and even adds a distinctive clicking sound whenever you build or break items. We tried the mod and we love it. We especially love the intricate designs given to each block - they're not all a single brick, but selections of multiple bricks glued together to make them more intricate and like a real Lego creation. However, this is not an officially licensed package, and while MineBricks never uses the word Lego, the toymaker may still ask them to remove the project at some point. If so, you may want to head over to the MineBricks page as soon as possible to ensure you have a copy forever.

How to make Minecraft look like Lego

Installing fan-made texture packs in Minecraft can be a bit tricky if you haven't already. So here is our quick guide on what you need to do to start playing with Lego bricks in Minecraft. First of all, you'll need Minecraft Java Edition on PC, sorry console gamers, you're out of luck this time. Also, you won't be able to install the mod if you're playing on the Windows 10 version of the game either; If you can play on multiple platforms with non-PC users and access the DLC store, that means you have the Windows 10 version. Next, you'll want to head over to the official MineBricks page to download the texture pack. If you want to test the package without investing in it, you can download a 128x or 256x resolution version for free. Alternatively, for just £2 (around £1.5 / AU$3) you can snag the 512x resolution bundle, or spend £5 (around £3.5 / AU$7) and get both the 512x and 1024x versions of the highest quality. No matter which MineBricks package you secure, your next step is the same. Malheureusement, the pack of textures does not turn on in charge of the next version of Minecraft, you will want to install the old version 1.16 of the game. It means that certain functions will be lost, but you can refer to the most recent version at any time. To install version 1.16, open the Minecraft launcher and find the Installations tab at the top of the window. Here select New Installation and under Version look for version 1.16. With that option chosen, give the installation a name, then hit Create and you should be good to go. Well almost. The last step to install the MineBricks mod is to open your Minecraft version 1.6 and before jumping into a game, choose the options. Here you should see the resource packs and then you'll want to click Open Resource Pack Folder. Drag and drop the .zip file (you don't need to extract it) for MineBricks into the resource pack folder, then close it. Back in the Minecraft tab you should now see a new option to use the mod and you are finally ready to play. Today's Best Minecraft Deals
