Microsoft finally improves search in (*11*) 11

This week's (*22572*) 11 Insider Preview Build 11 brings numerous quality of life fixes to the dev channel, all of which are detailed on the official (*11*) blog.

These upcoming features have been spotted by (*11*) Central and the most prominent are Microsoft Family and Clipchamp, which are becoming inbox apps, meaning they will be pre-loaded on machines running (*11*) 11 in the future. The former allows users to set up a wide variety of parental controls, as well as digital activity reports and parental controls. The latter is a video editing program that has been optimized for more intuitive use.

The new update also contains a much-needed improvement to the (*11*) 11 search. A new feature called "featured search" will be implemented in the Insider Program. It will sit on your taskbar and allow you to see "trends online, globally, and across your organization." Perhaps this justifies Microsoft requiring everyone to be online when installing (*11*) 11.

The update won't be available to all Insiders initially, but it's expected to roll out soon — Microsoft is just waiting for user feedback before rolling out a wider distribution. Other changes will be made to features such as the print queue, quick support, and many other bug fixes and quality of life improvements.

It's unclear when these updates will roll out to users who aren't in the Microsoft Insider program, but it's likely to be in the next major seasonal update of (*11*) 11, 22H2, which is shaping up to be a big one.
