Microsoft Edge update will prevent you from making an embarrassing mistake

Embarrassing spelling and grammar mistakes will soon be a thing of the past in Microsoft Edge, as Microsoft is now rolling out a built-in grammar editor for its browser.

Microsoft Editor is the software giant's Grammarly competitor, and while it's typically accessed through a browser extension, the company has decided to integrate it directly into Edge.

As with other writing programs, Microsoft Editor provides users with grammar and punctuation corrections and suggestions as they type. In Edge, the Editor will be available in more than 20 languages, but the writing tool will only provide feedback for the primary language used in the browser.

In addition to its existing features, Microsoft announced that it will soon begin rolling out English, Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese text predictions in Editor to help users not only type better, but also faster.

web selection

Along with its new Microsoft Editor integration, Microsoft is also bringing another new feature to Edge called Web Selection, although it was originally known as Smart Copy when it was first announced two years ago.

Web selection makes it easy to select formatted content like tables, images, and text on the web. This feature allows users to quickly select entire paragraphs in their original formatting or copy just the cells they want in a table. From there, you can paste the original formatted content into a Word or OneNote document for future reference.

While Web Select is probably a useful feature for Edge users, it certainly took a while to make its way to Microsoft's browser. The company began testing the feature in November 2020.

It should be noted that Web Highlight is not the same as Web Capture, which allows users to take screenshots of web pages and annotate them before sharing or saving them.

To try out Microsoft Editor and Web Selection in Microsoft Edge, you'll first need to make sure you're using the latest version of Microsoft's browser. To check if it is, you can click the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the browser and choose Help and Feedback and so About Microsoft Edge.
