Microsoft Edge finally updates one of its most useful features

Finding the exact information you're looking for on a Microsoft Edge web page could soon be easier than ever with a super helpful update.

The web browser announced that it was improving the "page search" feature in Edge to include related matches, as well as simply searching for a specific word or term on any site of your choice.

This means that Edge will catch up with Word and Notepad, which can offer matches and related search results in case you want to learn more about a particular term.

The feature was spotted in the latest Edge Canary issue, suggesting that it is currently being tested ahead of a wider public release in the coming weeks.

Elsewhere, with the aim of further improving the user experience, Microsoft Edge would also benefit from a beefed up "efficiency mode" to try and give it an edge over the competition.

WindowsLatest has noted that Performance Mode in Edge has received a new mark intended to help users extend battery life by minimizing the amount of power and system resources used by the browser.

It will do this through a number of functions, including putting the background tabs to sleep after five minutes of inactivity, as well as clearing the sleep tabs to save memory and CPU usage.

This will not only help improve the battery life of your device, but it will also allow the version of Windows you are using to run more efficiently, although it depends exactly on the device you are using.

Efficiency mode is currently being implemented in Microsoft Edge 95. The news comes shortly after Microsoft Edge also added features to help users compare prices, save money, check product reviews, etc. - particularly useful this Black Friday.

In addition to saving money, Edge, along with Bing, can be used to earn rewards when shopping online, playing games, or even searching the web.
