Microsoft's next Xbox Series X event is surely not going to be what you think

Microsoft may be planning an Xbox event "What's Next for Gaming?" Sometime in the next few weeks. According to a report from ZDNet, a player-focused showcase is coming soon, as well as other "What's Next" corporate events. That's not to say you should wait for a big reveal, though, especially not for information related to the biggest upcoming Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S games like Halo Infinite or Fable. Instead, it seems like it's likely to focus on Xbox technology and ecosystem as a whole, which could be helpful in shaping Xbox's strategy and roadmap. ZDNet notes that this event is meant to be separate from the upcoming Microsoft Game Stack Live event. We might see some updates on how the Xbox network is working, or even some new features. Xbox CEO Phil Spencer has indicated that Xbox Cloud Gaming is coming to iOS soon and now would be a good time to reveal it.

A busy summer for games, as always and at all times.

That's not to say, though, that enthusiasts eager for big game news will end up with nothing to chew on any longer. Looking even further into the summer, there are going to be several big gaming events full of surprises and announcements. Summer Game Fest is back, hosted by Geoff Keighley, host of the Game Awards and Opening Night Live at Gamescom. Meanwhile, the ESA has confirmed that E3 XNUMX will arrive in June as a digital event, with brands such as Capcom, Koch Media, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, WB Games and Xbox confirmed.
