Micron Enters Portable SSD Market with Crucial X8

Micron's global memory and storage brand Crucial has announced the availability of its new Crucial X8 portable SSD, marking the company's first entry into the portable SSD market.

The Crucial X8 offers impressive performance in a sleek housing built with a durable monocoque core, resistant to 7,5 foot drops, extreme temperature, shock and vibration.

The new portable SSD offers read speeds of up to 1050MB / s. The hard drive is 1.8 times faster than similar devices in the same price category and up to 7.5 times faster than portable hard drives.

In terms of price, the 8GB Crucial X500 model retails for € 119.95, while the 1TB model costs slightly more, at € 164.95.

The Crucial X8 is also compatible with a wide variety of peripherals, including PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, Apple iPad Pro, game consoles, and some Android devices via the USB 3.2 Gen2 interface.
