Mi Band 5 obtains certification in India, planned launch

Xiaomi may consider bringing the Mi Band 5 to India soon. The latest version of the company, Mi Band 4, was well received in the country. Now the successor, which was recently launched in China, may already be on the way as it has been BIS certified in India. Leaks from a Twitter tipster revealed the details of the certification. The product model number listed on the page is XMSH10HM. If we recall, a similar product with the same model number was certified in Taiwan's NCC certification. The reason why we believe this is because the old Mi Band 4 and Mi Band 3 had the model numbers XMSH07HM and XMSH05HM respectively and one of them can be seen on the same certified listing at an early date. Therefore, the new list could be the Mi Band 5.

The smart wearables segment is expanding in 2020 with companies like Realme, Oppo entering the fitness tracker arena with their own aggressively priced bands. So it's safe to assume that the company that released the latest version of the Mi Band back in September is considering the next one. Xiaomi launched it in China a few days ago with an aggressive price of CNY189. The company launched the new Mi Band 5 to have seven new upgrades such as improved SpO2 sensor, larger 1.1-inch AMOLED display, 11 sports modes, magnetic charging, improved NFC, and more. In addition, Xiaomi should soon offer the Mi Band 5 in other countries around the world as well. Although we're not sure if the NFC version will make it to India, Xiaomi might launch different versions of the fitness tracker with multi-colored straps in the future.
