Marvel TV shows bring "street heroes" to Disney Plus

Marvel Television head Jeph Loeb has finally announced the cancellation of Netflix's Marvel broadcasts, while also assuring fans that other unexpected Marvel TV shows are definitely in the works for Disney Plus.

Many were wiped out by the cancellation of Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Daredevil, and of course the team shows The Defenders, all of which have stopped renewing and will, at some point, be removed from the Netflix platform altogether. .

According to Loeb, this decision also surprised Marvel.

"We were blind and the things that were going to happen were not over yet," Loeb said, adding that the TV station was not sure what the future held. "It looked like we were going to go out, and all of a sudden we rose up like the Phoenix" (via Deadline).

With Disney launching its own streaming platform, Disney Plus, which will host all kinds of titles from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Fox, and even LucasFilm, you can be sure that Marvel fans will be provided, while the TV format offers avenues for little stories that would not be told on the big screen.

Loeb wouldn't be inspired by the details of other Marvel TV shows, but he clearly distinguished between the TV fallout of MCU characters coming to Disney Plus, like Hawkeye, Loki, and WandaVision, and Marvel Television's own projects.

"Well, first of all, I have to point something out, which is shows created and directed and the responsibility of the movie studio. Secondly, Marvel Television will do shows with Disney Plus, we just announced what we're going to do there."

He also hinted at more "street heroes" along the lines of defenders, who are generally trying to "save themselves, save the neighborhood" rather than "save the universe."

What could these new Marvel TV shows be?

Marvel Comics' long history of publishing isn't without its characters, beginning in 1939 under the Timely Comics banner, and it's hard to say who we might see.

It's entirely possible we'll get other supernatural heroes, given the plans for Blade the vampire hunter, Ghost Rider and Jared Leto's next round as Morbius the living vampire. On the lighter side, we could also see someone like Squirrel Girl, a young superhero capable of, of course, communicating with squirrels, and that's a character that former Marvel chief editor Joe Quesada said "always wanted" to do more with it.

With Iron Man now removed from the MCU, it may be time to introduce a successor. As of 2015, Riri Williams' character (published as Ironheart) is an African-American MIT student who makes Iron Man-style armor, recruited by Tony Stark to become a superhero, and that could be exciting. introduction to the MCU or a more collegiate TV series.

The recent acquisition of 21st-Century Fox also opens up a lot of perspectives for characters from The Fantastic Four or X-Men. Both franchises are likely to be rebooted in one way or another. However, do you think they are introduced to an already saturated cinematic world (where will mutants be integrated?), or where they benefit from the Disney Plus treatment.
