Locke and Key could be Netflix's next big horror hit, based on this trailer

Netflix released the first trailer for Locke and Key, their adaptation of the Joe Hill/Gabriel Rodriguez graphic novel series, which will be available on the streaming service on February 7. A Locke and Key TV adaptation has been in the works for a long time. So long, in fact, that an unrevealed pilot was created for the Fox network in the United States in 2011. This adaptation picked up after Hulu made its own pilot, choosing not to make it into a series. So, in essence, this is the third attempt at a live-action version of Locke and Key, and it's got to be really good. Check it out for yourself:

House of secrets

Locke and Key are three brothers who move into an old house after their father's murder. In this house, they discover a series of mystical keys that grant the user a different ability, depending on the use of this key. Some are cool, like being able to fly as you'll see in the trailer above, while others are much more sinister. The trailer has a quality 80s kids adventure movie, but you can expect this show to get pretty dark. If you can't wait for the series to begin, the source material is available in a large box of graphic novels, or you can read it in the ComiXology app. Locke and Key hails from Hill and Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse, and also counts the IT team of Andy and Barbara Muschietti among its producers. 10 episodes are expected to drop on February 7.
