MWC 2023 live blog: new mobile devices from Xiaomi, OnePlus, Honor and more

While most of the gadget world is ringing in the New Year with the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, for the phone world there's Mobile World Congress (MWC), Barcelona's massive trade show focused on mobile technology. We're in Spain covering the latest phone launches and forward-thinking tech news, including hot new devices from Xiaomi and OnePlus, and a race to chat with the satellites.

We've already seen Xioami's latest phones, the Xiaomi XNUMX and Xiaomi XNUMX Pro, like the rebranded Xiaomi XNUMX Lite. These phones caused a stir in Xiaomi's Chinese domestic market, and now that they're going global, we've had a hands-on look.

We're also awaiting news from OnePlus, which teased its OnePlus XNUMX Concept phone for the MWC show. We should have all the details, including whether it's a phone we can buy, before the show concludes.

We expect announcements from just about every major phone maker, aside from Samsung, which launched its flagship Galaxy S23 earlier this month, or Apple. Both Honor and Oppo are going to have events and kickoff sessions here at the show, so we can learn more about these brands.

We are also on the lookout for new surprises. We knew Bullitt Group would have its satellite-enabled Motorola Defy at the show, and the company had other satellite surprises as well. We will be attentive to any other new mobile with an eye on the sky.

Please check back regularly throughout the week as we continually update our weblog live from Mobile World Congress. We are going to have each and every one of the news from Spain and each and every one of the mobiles.
