LG roll-up TV, the Signature OLED TV R is now available in the UAE

A rollable OLED TV can be tricky to figure out. At one point, seeing a television appear out of nowhere would have been something straight out of an act of magic. But LG's new rollable TV, the Signature Series OLED R TV, isn't magic, it's engineering and display technology taken to the nth degree. After showing it off at CES, the LG Signature OLED TV R is finally heading to the United Arab Emirates, so don't expect to buy one in a store. Priced at AED 329,999, the TV is custom built for each order and takes 8-10 weeks to arrive after you've paid in full. It only comes in one size, which is a 65-inch screen size that can unfold when you're ready to watch a TV show or movie, and then fold back into its slot when you're done. In addition to Full View and Zero View modes (LG's name for the modes when the TV is fully deployed and fully stocked, respectively), there's also an Online View mode that allows only part of the screen to be exposed.

The TV is stored in a rather neat looking cabinet that is about the size of a long entertainment center. The center is open along the bottom, allowing for storage, and the middle is a front-firing Dolby Atmos 4.2 system. (Without the top speakers, this will be another knockoff Atmos soundbar like last year's W8 and 7 W2017 OLED, but that's to be expected.) Inside the cabinet, the R-series OLED will be powered by LG's second-generation Alpha A9 intelligent processor and, according to LG, uses LG's deep learning artificial intelligence for a four-stage noise reduction process. These technologies will be combined with OLED's natural ability to produce deeper, darker black levels and better contrast.
