The popularity of Sony's mirrorless cameras has prompted many others to develop interesting and affordable lens options, and this group is expected to expand further with the release of the Rokinon AF 45mm F1.8 FE. The lens, also called the Samyang AF 45mm F1.8 FE Lens and Bowers AF 45mm F1.8 FE depending on which country you're in, is designed for use with Sony's E-System Alpha cameras, such as Models A7 III and A7. III. A9. It's compatible with full-frame boxes and APS-C alternatives, like the all-new A6400, and unlike other Rokinon lenses, it has its own autofocus system. The compact lens has just seven elements divided into six groups in a new optical concept said to be optimized for high-resolution mirrorless bodies. This design features two aspherical optics and a single ultra-low dispersion element, allowing it to weigh just 162g without its lens caps. Rokinon has big claims about the performance of the new lens, stating that vignetting, distortion and chromatic aberration are extremely well controlled and that images are clear and sharp all the way to the edges of the frame.
