Boat, a local brand that makes affordable accessories like headphones, speakers, and cables, has announced its first smartwatch. The Boat Storm smartwatch is the company's second wearable after the fitness tracker. The Boat Strom smartwatch is optionally available in black and blue color and will go on sale from October 29 in India. The Boat Strom will be available on Flipkart at a price of Rs 1.999.

(Image credit: Flipkart) First of all, the Boat Strom gives you a 1,3-inch color touchscreen with a resolution of 240 x 240 pixels. It has a 2.5D curved glass design built on top of a metal case. For navigation, in addition to the touchscreen, you also get a button to the left of the watch. The Boat Strom smartwatch would offer more than 100 watch faces that will be available via OTA later. The Boat Strom watch offers 9 tracking modes: Running, Walking, Riding, Treadmill, Climbing, Spinning, Yoga, Training, and Walking. Other than that, the watch tells you how many steps you have taken and calories burned in a day and will also give you an overview of the week. As for the sensors, there is a heart rate sensor, an SpO2 sensor to measure the level of oxygen in the blood, and a menstrual cycle tracking function on board. On a single charge, the Boat Strom is said to last around 8 days and up to 30 days on standby. Since this is an affordable entry-level smartwatch, there are only a few smart features. The Boat Strom can vibrate when you receive a call, text message, social media notifications, sedentary alerts, and alarms. You can also control music through this watch. It is also 5ATM water resistant, which means it can survive in water up to 50 meters. For connectivity, it comes with Bluetooth 4.2 and is compatible with Android devices running 4.4 or higher and iPhones running iOS 8.0 and higher. In addition to the ship, Strom is also equipped with guided breathing, an accelerometer, and a G-sensor.
