August free games for PS Plus confirmed after leak

August free games for PS Plus confirmed after leak
Update: Sony has now confirmed the free PS Plus games for August following a leak last weekend. Original story: Sony has apparently leaked its free PS Plus games for August, ahead of an official announcement. The official PlayStation site seems to have updated prematurely this weekend (thanks to Eurogamer), revealing that the August lineup of free PS Plus games includes Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville (PS4), Tennis World Tour 2 (PS4) and Hunter's Arena: Legends (PS5). The updated information has since been removed, and the website is showing the July free games offer again, but not before players caught the apparent error.

In this case, the free PS Plus games for August will apparently be available from August 3rd. Since this update was for the website only and has now been removed, we can assume that it was a mistake on Sony's part.

So what's (potentially) at stake?

(Image credit: Mantisco) While Sony hasn't officially confirmed these are officially August's PS Plus games at the time of writing, we reckon it won't be long before they do. We also imagine that this leaked list, since it's a Sony bug itself, is probably pretty accurate. So what do PS Plus subscribers (potentially) have on their hands come August? plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville is a wacky first-person shooter that sees you engage in a suburban skirmish, fighting for (you guessed it) either mindless zombies or ferocious flora. plants vs. Zombies is ridiculously fun and gives players the perfect opportunity to dive into the craze of online multiplayer that doesn't take itself too seriously. For those who have seen their professional tennis aspirations boosted by Wimbledon, Tennis World Tour 2 is worth a look. Playing as the best players in the world, Tennis World Tour allows you to dominate the world circuit: topspin, backhand and serve for get to the top. Finally, we have Hunter's Arena: Legends. Hunter's Arena: Legends is a battle royale set in ancient Asia, featuring 30-player PvP and PvE combat. If you like battle royale, but are tired of Fortnite, Apex Legends, and PUBG, then Hunter's Arena is worth a visit. Remember that although it looks like Plants vs. Zombies and Tennis World Tour 2 will be PS4 versions, you can also play these PS4 games on PS5 thanks to backwards compatibility, although it looks like PS4 players won't be able to play Hunter's Arena: Legends which is a game title. PS5.

Notice: not the best PS Plus deal

Gira mundial de tenis 2

(Image credit: Nacon) It's not the best lineup of PS Plus games we've seen, and honestly, it's a bit disappointing, especially when it comes to the apparent offering of PS5 games. Hunters Arena doesn't compare to the months when new PS5 exclusives like Destruction Allstars and Soulstorm were on offer. However, Plants vs Zombies seems to be a real star here and is definitely worth your time. While we'd generally say that all PS Plus game leaks are taken with a load of salt, as they've been proven fake in the past, we'd imagine this one is pretty legit, as it's from Sony itself. We just have to wait for the official announcement.

A profitable investment
