Jio and chipset designer MediaTek will team up to launch 'Gaming Masters', an esports event aimed at attracting new gaming enthusiasts to India. Of course, existing players can also participate. This 70-day esports tournament comes just days after the successful completion of JioGames' first online gaming event – “India ka Gaming Champion”. The tournament will take place from January 13 to March 7 and will be broadcast live on the JioTV HD Esports channel and YouTube, Jio said in a press release. The total tournament prize pool is Rs 12.50.000.
What is Gaming Masters?
The press release added that Gaming Masters is a core business of MediaTek and Jio, which aims to revolutionize online gaming. The tournament will test players' skills, teamwork and stamina on a virtual playing field. Gaming Masters will feature Garena's self-developed battle royale title, Free Fire, which is available to Jio and non-Jio users via the JioGames platform. Electronic sports, also known as electronic sports, is a form of sports competition using video games that often takes the form of organized multiplayer video game competitions.
