With the PSVR 2 virtual reality headset officially announced by Sony for the PS5 (if not fully revealed yet), could we now see the first PlayStation VR 2 games start to rear their heads? Here's what's perhaps teasing developer Impulse Gear, the developer behind the exclusive PSVR blockbuster Farpoint (pictured above). It is revealed that he is working on a new VR game - it is the first new title since Farpoint was released three and a half years ago. Could it be Farpoint 2? And could it be one of the first games to launch on the PSVR 2? Being one of the biggest PSVR exclusive hits, Impulse Games is likely to want to replicate the success in any successor, but the developer has also said that this new title will be released in 2021. We expect PSVR 2 to be at least a few years away from the game. release, and while that doesn't rule out the appearance of this game on Sony headsets, this new title is more likely to be a game. Cross-platform VR, possibly including support for the Oculus Quest 2 headset, the HTC Vive family, and Valve Index. So it could be a spiritual successor to Farpoint, as those on other platforms probably aren't familiar enough with the existing story to justify an investment in a sequel.
