Its Roomba range of cleaning products has been one of the first to be adapted to the general public and still offers some of the best robotic vacuums on the market. Although neither model is particularly cheap, the price of the older series of vacuum cleaners is falling every time the company releases a new flagship product. Which is why we're going to wonder if the iRobot Roomba 670 is worth buying. We were expecting to see the Roomba 670, along with other vacuums, on sale on Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2019. The bottom line: The Roomba 670 is a mid-range iRobot vacuum that offers the same features as those found in more expensive models, like Wi-Fi, iRobot Dirt Sensing technology, and Amazon Alexa support. and the Google Assistant. The latter means that you can control the vacuum via voice commands. The sacrifice it makes for its lower price lies in the fact that it lacks the more powerful suction features and advanced smart mapping of the flagship models. Advantages: The Roomba 670 has all the main features of the more expensive models at a lower price. It cleans, it recharges, it can be controlled via the iRobot Home app or a smart speaker, and it's about the same size. Disadvantages: It can handle pet hair and waste, but it doesn't have more sophisticated filters for more expensive models in removing allergens. It also lacks more advanced navigation and has fewer options when planning.

When we tested other Roombas in the range, they never exceeded 45 minutes. 90 minutes is ambitious but not impossible. At least when the battery starts to run low, the Roomba 670 returns to its charging point and recharges. Bottom Line: The promise of robot vacuums is getting out of the house in the morning and back to a fully vacuumed home. The reality is a little different. Between variable battery life and mapping sensors whose capabilities vary wildly, you may find only one part finished, or the vacuum remains stuck somewhere, as we've already seen. There are many makes and models of robotic vacuums that offer very similar features at similar prices, but iRobot has long been a leader in this market. If you're interested in a robot vacuum, or already own one and want to upgrade, the Roomba range is usually a good place to start, and the 670 offers plenty of benefits.
