iPhone 15 Pro screen leak shows off its ultra-thin bezels

iPhone 15 leaks and rumors continue to pour in at a steady pace – the latest look we've got is at the phone's display components, showing off the ultra-thin display bezels apparently seen on the iPhone 15. 15 Pro models.

These images purporting to show glass heading towards the iPhone 15 models come courtesy of well-known tipster Ice Universe (opens in a new tab). We have photos of the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max devices, as well as iPhone 14 screens for comparison.

You may recall that the same source previously claimed that the iPhone 15 Pro Max would have the thinnest bezels of any phone ever made, at just 1,55 millimeters (0,061 inches), and it looks like the iPhone 15 Pro will match that.

Why do I want you to believe it's true? Because the proof comes not only from CAD renderings, but also from physical objects: The iPhone's glass casing is part of the phone, not a protective film. Therefore, its bezel is the same as the bezel of the phone. Bezel: 15 = 14P > 15P pic.twitter.com/FRkLi2b4zRA Apr 8, 2023

According to the leaker, the iPhone 15 will copy the bezel size of the iPhone 14 Pro at 2,1mm (0,083 inches), while the bezels of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone Pro Max will be even thinner. These small changes are not easy to see in these leaked photos.

We've also heard that the new iPhone 15 phones will come with more rounded edges, which should add to the phones' aesthetic appeal (unless you're a particular fan of the flatter, more upright look of recent models).

It should all be revealed around September, when Apple traditionally introduces its new iPhones. Before that, we have the WWDC 2023 event in June, where we hope to hear all the details about the upcoming iOS 17.

Analysis: everything depends on this screen

What we can also tell from these leaked images is that the smaller notch and Dynamic Island feature will be included in all iPhone models this time around, rather than being exclusive to the more expensive Pro editions.

The display notch is smaller than ever, but it may not last forever: Rumors persist that Apple is working on ways to integrate the Face ID sensor and other components under the display, so it wouldn't be necessary. no notch.

Add to that Apple's attempts to make iPhone bezels thinner than ever, and it's clear that the display is the priority. It seems likely that the iPhone will eventually feature this screen when viewed from the front.

Also keep in mind that some of the iPhone 15 models are set to replace mechanical buttons with solid-state versions, another indication that the iPhone will take a compact, minimalist design approach in the coming years.
